# What you can do with the MCP

These prompts show what's possible with Gradient Works MCP connected to your AI tool. Copy any of them into Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor and run them one at a time.

New here? [Connect the MCP to your AI tool](/kb/mcp/overview.md#getting-started) first.

Most of these prompts are safe to run on a **read-only** connection. Prompts that create or change data are tagged **Full access** and you'll need an admin-granted full-access connection to run those. See [Access levels](/kb/mcp/overview.md#access-levels).

For each issue, describe the scenario that triggers it and how to fix it."* | Concrete, prioritized risks, each with its trigger scenario and a suggested fix | Read-only |
| **Bonus**: summarize for your CRO | *"Summarize how my inbound routing works in one plain-language paragraph I could hand to a CRO (no jargon) and include high-level stats on recent inbound volume and how it was distributed."* | A hand-off-ready narrative plus a quick operational snapshot | Read-only |

## Prioritize & segment accounts (Market Map)

{% hint style="info" %}
Building a market map's initial data requires a run in [app.gradient.works](https://app.gradient.works). Through the MCP you can create maps, **add accounts (which scores them)**, and view or export the scores, tiers, and clusters.
{% endhint %}

## Analyze rep coverage (Bookbuilder)

See how accounts and activity are spread across your team.

| Goal               | Prompt                                                                                            | What you get                                            | Access    |

| ------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- | ----------- |
| Handle a promotion | *"Our SDR Jordan was just promoted to AE. Add them to the Enterprise target book and remove them from the SDR book."* | Updates rosters across both books in one step | Full access |

{% hint style="info" %}
The MCP creates and edits target books and manages their rep rosters. **Distributions & Retrievals (actually moving accounts to reps) are scheduled and run in Bookbuilder** in the managed Salesforce package.
{% endhint %}

## Plan & compare territories (Carve)

Use Carve to compare scenarios and trigger exports of scenario results to your CRM, all from your AI agent.

| Goal              | Prompt                                                                                                                                                                                | What you get                                                    | Access      |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------- |
| Compare scenarios | *"Compare two territory scenarios in my Carve project for enterprise H1 2027 planning and show me which reps gain or lose accounts."* | A side-by-side of how each scenario splits accounts across reps | Read-only |

| Deploy results | *"Deploy the results of my \[name] scenario to Salesforce."* | Pushes the scenario's assignments to your CRM | Full access |

{% hint style="info" %}
Deploying a scenario writes assignments to Salesforce and/or HubSpot, so it requires a full-access connection. You can check progress by asking for the project's deploy status.
{% endhint %}
