# Enroll Accounts

Enrolling accounts is the first step in using Bookbuilder. This is how you determine the pool of accounts that you are looking to set up in your target books along with the accounts that you're looking to distribute and retrieve. Bookbuilder will only manage the accounts that you input into the criteria.

The first step is to determine which type of accounts you want to manage through Bookbuilder. For example, if you're looking to manage accounts for your SDRs you may want to include Type = Prospect. This will pull all accounts in that fit that criteria.

If needed, you're also able to set custom logic to adjust your enrollment criteria to fit your needs.

After you have set up your enrollment criteria the Overview page will show the amount of accounts that are eligible to be managed through Bookbuilder.
